Furman’s Morgan named SoCon Women’s Golfer of the Week

Senior won her second weekly award of the month

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman’s Anna Morgan has been selected as the Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for all competition from March 22-28. The selection is made by the league office.
 
Morgan finished the Clemson Invitational, which wrapped Sunday, posting rounds of 74-74-72 for a tournament score of 4-over-par 220. The senior from Spartanburg, South Carolina, who also received the honor on March 8, had seven birdies in the event and was one of six golfers to have an eagle in the tournament, which occurred for Morgan on the 11th hole in round three.
 
Furman finished 13th in the 16-team, 84-golfer Clemson Invitational. The field included four teams in the top 25, including third-ranked LSU. The Paladins shot 316 in the first round, 305 in the second round and 293 in the final round.
 
The Paladins return to action on April 16-18 at the SoCon Championship in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
