SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga softball player Kaili Phillips has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for all competition from March 15-22. The selection is made by the conference office.
 
Phillips hit .500 on the week, slugging 1.429 and putting together a .588 on-base percentage en route to earning SoCon Player of the Week honors. The redshirt junior infielder opened her week with a 4-for-4 showing against Princeton on March 15, driving in three runs and a double and a pair of home runs, including a walk-off solo shot to lead off the bottom of the seventh in the 7-6 win. After drawing a walk against Lehigh later that day, Phillips hit her third homer of the week in a 2-for-2 effort against FGCU on Thursday, scoring twice and driving in two on the day. The Ooltewah, Tennessee, native wrapped up her week with another home run against FGCU on Friday, bringing her total to four on the week. Her two-run shot tied the game in the top of the seventh before the Eagles won it in the bottom half, 4-3.
 
A chronic disease prevention and control major, Phillips carries a 3.589 GPA.
