SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Western Carolina’s Elizabeth Lohbauer has been selected as the Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for all competition from March 8-14. The selection is made by the league office.
Lohbauer finished tied for first at the Jackrabbit invitational, which wrapped Tuesday. The native of Venice, Florida, posted rounds of 73-69-68 for a career-best tournament score of 6-under-par 210. The sophomore was tied for 17th after the first round and tied for fourth, six-strokes off the pace, after the second round before rallying in the final round to share individual medalist honors after shooting a career-best round of 68. Lohbauer tied for the highest number of birdies in the tournament with 14 and she was one of nine golfers to card an eagle during the event.
Western Carolina finished third in the 14-team, 79-golfer Jackrabbit Invitational. The Catamounts shot 299 in the first round, 291 in the second round and 294 in the final round.
Lohbauer, who also won SoCon golfer of the week on March 1, was the SoCon golfer of the month in February.
The Catamounts return to action on March 27-28 at the Georgia State Women's Golf Spring Invitational at Rivermont Golf Club in Johns Creek, Georgia.
