SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford’s Sussy Ngulefac has been named Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 31 to Feb. 6 after averaging 20 points and six rebounds per game in two conference road wins last week. The award is selected by the league office.
 
Ngulefac scored a career-high 22 points for Samford as the Bulldogs defeated UNCG, 75-68, on Thursday. The Lilburn, Georgia, native also pulled down seven rebounds and had an assist. Ngulefac went 10-for-12 (.833) from the floor and hit both of her free-throw attempts against the Catamounts.
 
Two days later, Ngulefac had 18 points, five rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block in Samford’s 72-63 win over Western Carolina. The sophomore center was 8-for-10 (.800) from the floor against the Catamounts while leading the squad to a double-digit comeback without the conference’s leading scorer, Andrea Bailey, in the game.
 
Samford (13-11, 7-2 SoCon) hosts ETSU (17-7, 4-4) on Thursday, Feb. 9, and Chattanooga (13-10, 5-3) on Saturday, Feb. 11.
