SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga’s Ryan Mudre has been named the Southern Conference men’s tennis player of the week for all matches played from Feb. 14-20, the conference announced on Tuesday. The award is selected by the league office.
Mudre went 2-0 in singles action as the Mocs downed North Alabama 4-2 on Saturday and Tennessee State 5-2 on Sunday.
The sophomore from New Albany, Ohio, dropped just two games total on the week, rolling to 6-1, 6-0 wins over UNA’s Chris Zhang at No. 5 and TSU’s Nicholas Adamec at No. 4.
The weekly award is the first of Mudre’s career.
Chattanooga (7-2) visits Presbyterian on Sunday at 10 a.m. in its lone action this week.
