SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford guard Bubba Parham has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for all contests from Feb. 13-19 after averaging 20.0 points per game in a pair of conference wins on the week. The award is selected by the league office.

In Wednesday’s battle of first-place squads, Parham scored a season- and game-high 21 points in Samford’s 83-71 takedown of UNCG. Parham was 5-for-9 (.556) from the floor, including a 4-for-7 (.571) effort from 3-point range. He was 7-for-9 (.778) from the free-throw line on the evening and added two rebounds, two assists and three steals as the Bulldogs moved into solo possession for first place in the SoCon standings with the win over the Spartans and Furman’s loss earlier that evening.

Three days later, Parham scored a team-best 19 points, his second-highest point total of the season, and added four rebounds and two assists in his return to Lexington, Virginia. The senior from Snellville, Georgia, was 7-for-8 (.875) from the floor and went 5-for-6 (.833) from beyond the arc as the Bulldogs cruised to a 96-61 win over VMI, for whom Parham starred from 2017-19, earning SoCon Freshman of the Year honors in 2017-18 and All-SoCon honors in 2018-19.

For the week, Parham averaged 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game in addition to his 20.0 points per contest. He shot 70.6 percent from the floor (12-for-17) and 69.2 percent from 3-point range (9-for-13).
