SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Western Carolina’s Madison Isaacson has been selected as the Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for all competition during the spring season up to this point. The selection is made by the league office.
 
Isaacson won all three of her matches at the Oyster Shuck Match Play tournament, which wrapped play on Tuesday. The fifth-year senior from Greensboro, North Carolina, won her opening-round match against App State’s Meghan Mitchell with a score of 7&5 on Monday. Later that day, Isaacson defeated UNCG golfer Anna Bowman, 4&3, in the semifinal match between the two squads. Isaacson won 3 up over James Madison’s Amelia Williams to grab her third victory of the event.
 
Western Carolina finished second in the Oyster Shuck Match Play behind James Madison. The field had eight teams, which included SoCon squads UNCG, Samford and host The Citadel.
 
This marks Isaacson’s second weekly honor of the season, as she earned the recognition on Oct. 5.


Western Carolina will return to action on Feb. 26-28 at the RiverTowne Intercollegiate at the RiverTowne Country Club in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.
