SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Campbell’s Domenic Zaccone has been named the Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week for all competition from Nov. 29-Dec. 5. The selection is made by the league office.

Zaccone, who placed fourth at 133 pounds and went 5-2, helped lead the Fighting Camels to a 13th place overall finish at last weekend’s Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational. The Orland Park, Ill., native captured Campbell’s highest-ranked victory on the weekend with a 4-2 decision over 10th-ranked Julian Chlebove of Arizona State, while also picking up a 9-6 decision over 31st-ranked Ethan Oakley of Appalachian State. The redshirt senior also earned three major decisions – over Andrew Fallon (Sacred Heart), against Julian Farber (Northern Iowa), and past Tyler Knox (Stanford).

Following a layoff of more than two weeks, Campbell will host the Fighting Camel Duals, on Dec. 19.

Also nominated: Tanner Peake (Davidson), Kamdyn Munro (Chattanooga) and Drew West (Gardner-Webb).
