SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford’s Rachael Rose has been named Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played Nov. 28-Dec. 4, averaging 22 points, seven rebounds, and five assists per game as the Terriers went 2-1 for the week. The award is selected by the league office.

Rose, a junior guard, led Wofford to wins over UNC Asheville and Emory & Henry, while the Terriers fell to Bellarmine. On Wednesday, Rose scored a game and season-high 28 points, grabbed nine rebounds, and dished out seven assists in a 63-54 victory over UNC Asheville. On Saturday, Rose again scored 28 points, secured five rebounds and tallied six assists in a 61-59 setback against Bellarmine.

On Monday night, the Scranton, Pennsylvania, native scored a game-high 12 points, going 5-for-8 from the field. She also secured six  rebounds, while tallying three assists and three steals in a 60-34 win against Emory & Henry. She currently leads the conference in points (20.1), field goal percentage (.497), free throw percentage (.925), and assists (5.0).

Wofford (6-4) does not play again until Dec. 16 when they travel to Virginia for a 1 p.m. matchup.
