Wofford’s Rose Named SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week

Women’s Basketball forward notched double-double in upset of Virginia, holds 3.86 GPA

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford women’s basketball guard Rachael Rose has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for all competition from Dec. 13-19.  The selection is made by the conference office.

Rose notched her second double-double of the season with a 21-point, 10-rebound performance during a 71-70 upset over Virginia on Saturday. The Scranton, Pennsylvania, product went on to score 23 points and grab 13 rebounds in the Terriers’ 85-63 setback against Tennessee on Tuesday. Rose combined for 23 total rebounds, 14 assists and eight steals while averaging 22 points per game this week.

The junior is pursuing a degree in Psychology and holds a 3.86 GPA.
