SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga’s Jada Guinn has been named Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 5-11, scoring 21 points in the Mocs’ only game last week. The award is selected by the league office.

Guinn, who won the honor on Nov. 28, led Chattanooga offensively last week as the Mocs defeated North Alabama 68-65. Guinn, a graduate transfer, scored a team-leading 21 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and dished out an assist for her first double-double with the program, helping lead Chattanooga to the program’s best start since the 2012-13 season. The win also gave the Mocs their seventh straight victory, the longest such streak since their 2016-17 campaign.

The Oak Ridge, Tennessee, product has led her team in scoring for seven straight games and currently ranks second in the SoCon in scoring (17.3), third in field goal percentage (.486), and fifth in free throw percentage (.771).

Chattanooga (9-1) travels to Lipscomb on Thursday, Dec. 14, before returning home for a matchup with Eastern Kentucky on Sunday, Dec. 17.
