SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford’s Rachael Rose has been named Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played Nov. 14-20, averaging 22 points, 7.5 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game as the Terriers went 1-1 for the week. The award is selected by the league office.
Rose, a junior guard, scored her 1,000
th career point on Tuesday, Nov. 14, as the Terriers defeated North Carolina Central 82-52. Rose scored a game-high 22 points, grabbed seven rebounds, dished out seven assists and had four steals, falling just short of a triple double in 29 minutes of play.
Three days later, the Scranton, Pennsylvania, native scored another 22 points, going 4-for-9 from behind the arc, secured eight rebounds and tallied eight assists in an 80-64 setback against High Point. Rose’s eight assists tied her career high, which she set in February against Samford. She currently leads the conference in points and assists per game at 20.2 and 6.0 per contest respectively.
Wofford (3-2) travels to Davidson on Tuesday, Nov. 21. The Terriers then head home to host Southern Wesleyan on Monday, Nov. 27.
