SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Gardner-Webb’s RJ Mosley has been named the Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week for all competition from Jan. 4-10. The selection is made by the league office.
 
Mosley went 2-0 at 165 pounds last week as he grabbed wins in duals with Campbell and 17th-ranked Nebraska on Saturday. In the dual with Campbell, the native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, won a 3-2 decision over Dom Baker to get his first conference victory of the season. Against the Cornhuskers, Mosley defeated 25th-ranked Bubba Wilson, 4-2, avenging his loss to Wilson in last year’s NCAA tournament.
 
The Bulldogs (1-6, 0-1 SoCon) fell to the Fighting Camels (6-5, 1-0) by a score of 25-12. Nebraska won its dual with Gardner-Webb 37-6.
 
Mosley earns the honor for the second time this season, previously winning on Dec. 7. The redshirt senior rose in the national rankings to No. 25 according to FloSports and No. 28 in the InterMat rankings.
 
Gardner-Webb will host Bellarmine (1-1, 0-1) on Friday, Jan. 13, in its second SoCon dual of the season. The Bulldogs will then welcome Army and Queens on Sunday, Jan. 15, for a pair of dual meets.
