SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman’s Dylan Schubert has been named the Southern Conference men’s cross country runner of the week for all competition Sept. 21-27. No SoCon women’s teams competed last week.

Schubert turned in a personal-best 8K time of 24:10.0 at Oklahoma State’s Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Oklahoma, on Saturday on the Greiner Family Cross Country Course, the site of the 2022 NCAA Championships. The junior from Loveland, Colorado finished 53rd in the 251-man field, running with only one shoe after losing his left one 1,200 meters into the race. Schubert helped the Paladins to a 17th-place finish out of 27 teams, eight of which were ranked in the top 10 nationally.

Furman returns to action at the Live in Lou Classic in Louisville, Kentucky, on Saturday, Oct. 1, to preview the NCAA Regional Championship course.
