Three ranked in AFCA Preseason Top 25 Poll

ETSU, Chattanooga and Mercer appear in poll; Furman receiving votes

WACO, Texas – Three Southern Conference football teams appear in AFCA FCS Coaches’ Top 25 Preseason Poll, which was announced by the organization Monday. ETSU, Chattanooga and Mercer are all ranked in the poll, while Furman received votes.
 
Defending SoCon champion ETSU checks in at No. 11 nationally with 352 points in the poll, followed at No. 13 by Chattanooga (294 points), who the SoCon coaches and media picked to win the league this season. Mercer, who finished runner-up to ETSU in the SoCon last season, is No. 23 in the Stats Perform poll with 78 points.
 
Furman picked up six points in the poll.
