SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Ten Southern Conference football student-athletes were named to the HERO Sports Preseason All-American Teams,
announced Thursday.
Preseason SoCon favorite Chattanooga and VMI led the way with three selections each. For the Mocs, offensive lineman McClendon Curtis and defensive lineman Devonnsha Maxwell earning first-team nods and linebacker Ty Boeck earning a spot on the third team. The Keydets also boasted a pair of first-teamers in linebacker Stone Snyder and long snapper Robert Soderholm, while kicker Jerry Rice wasa third-team pick.
The Citadel had two selections, putting fullback Alex Ramsey on the second team and long snapper Steele Judy on the third team.
Defending SoCon champion ETSU and Furman had one pick each. Offensive lineman Tavon Matthews represented the Bucs on the third team offense, where he was joined by Paladin tight end Ryan Miller.
