KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Citadel men’s basketball team achieved academic excellence to earn the 2021-22 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Award with seven honorees to the NABC Honors Court. The team amassed a 3.308 GPA, far above the association’s benchmark of 3.0 for distinction.
 
Brady Spence, David Maynard, Hayden Brown, Jackson Gammons, Jerry Higgins III, Robert Guyton and Tyler Moffe were awarded to the honors court as juniors, seniors or graduate students with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. Spence and Maynard return to the Bulldogs this season, with Spence in his senior season and Maynard, a graduate student, using his final year of eligibility.

“Academic success is a core value of the NABC and a priority shared by men’s basketball programs across the country,” said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. “Excellence in the classroom requires hard work and dedication, and the NABC considers it a privilege to honor these deserving student-athletes and the coaches and staff who support them.”
