MURRAY, Ky. – The Samford women's golf team took home the tournament title in the Murray State Jan Weaver Invite, held Friday and Saturday at the Miller Memorial Golf Course (Par 72, 6,024 yards).
In addition to the team victory, Sophie Membrino took home individual medalist honors. Membrino fired a two-round score of 151 (73-78) to remain at the top of the 63-player field.
The Bulldogs finished with a two-round score of 614 (309-305) to win the 10-team tournament. Belmont finished second with a total score of 628 (313-315).
Behind Membrino for Samford, Bailey Dunstan tied for second with a score of 152 (74-78), while Kelley Topiwala tied for ninth with a final score of 156 (79-77). Mary Kate Horton tied for 15th with a score of 158 (83-75), and Christian Williams tied for 23rd at 160 (85-75).
Samford will next compete in the Southern Conference Championship, April 17-19, in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
