SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga junior Dorota Zalewska has been named the Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for all competition from March 30 to April 5, the conference office announced Wednesday.
 
Zalewska won the Brickyard Collegiate by one stroke over a pair of ranked golfers, No. 49 Tunrada Piddon of UCF and No. 73 Letzia Bagnoli of Florida Atlantic. Zalewska turned in a 2-under-par 142 over two rounds Monday to hold the day-one lead and was declared the winner when Tuesday’s final round was canceled due to inclement weather. The junior from Szczecin, Poland, fired a 4-under 68 in Monday’s first round before closing with a 2-over 74. Her 68 tied for her second-lowest career round was the lowest relative to par.
 
Zalewska’s second career win came in a field of 80 golfers and made her the fourth women’s golfer in program history to notch multiple wins in her career. She helped Chattanooga to a seventh-place finish in the 14-team field.
 
Chattanooga’s regular season is complete. The Mocs return to action at the Southern Conference Women’s Golf Championship at the Barefoot Landing Resort’s Dye Golf Course in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on April 17-19.
