SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford’s Michael McMahan and Jed Sisco have been named the Southern Conference men’s outdoor track and field athletes of the week, respectively, while Wofford’s Kerrington Johnson and Samford’s Morayo Bhadmos claimed the honors on the women’s side, the conference office announced Wednesday.
 
Selections were made by panels of the league’s track and field coaches and included all competition from April 6-12.
 
Competing at the UAB Green and Gold Invite and Multi in Birmingham, Alabama, McMahan claimed wins in a pair of events Saturday, both in SoCon-leading times. The graduate student from Franklin, Tennessee, won the 110-meter hurdles in 14.29 seconds and then completed the hurdles sweep with a victory in the 400-meter later in the afternoon, in 53.42 seconds. McMahan’s 110mH time ranks 12th in the South Region and 55th on the NCAA Division I East Outdoor Qualifying List, while his time in the 400mH ranks 11th and 46th on those lists, respectively.
 
Also competing at UAB’s meet, Sisco won the pole vault with a jump of 5.11 meters, which handily leads the SoCon by 0.21 meters. The sophomore from Morrow, Ohio, ranks fourth in the South Region with that vault and is 23rd on the NCAA DI East Outdoor Qualifying List. Sisco’s jump ranks 52nd on the overall NCAA DI Outdoor Qualifying List.
 
Wofford’s Johnson competed in a trio of events at the South Florida Invitational in Tampa, Florida, on Saturday. The junior from Anderson, South Carolina, turned in a pair of conference-leading times in the Sunshine State, finishing second in the 100-meter hurdles in 13.53 seconds and finishing fifth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:03.31. She also ran a leg on the Terriers’ 4x400-meter relay, which finished sixth in 3:56.83, the second-best time in the SoCon this season. Johnson’s time in the 100mH is good for 12th in the Southeast Region, 27th on the NCAA East Outdoor Qualifying List and 55th on the overall NCAA qualifying list, while her 400mH time ranks 33rd in the Southeast Region.
 
Joining her Bulldog teammates at the UAB Green and Golf Invite and Multi, Samford’s Bhadmos won the triple jump Saturday with a season-best leap of 12.32 meters to claim the SoCon lead in the event. The graduate student from Powder Springs, Georgia, ranks 12th in the South Region with that jump and 44th on the NCAA DI East Qualifying List. She ranks 90th on the overall NCAA qualifying list.
