Richmond's Lanchbury finalist for Senior CLASS Award

Spider attackman is one of 10 national finalists

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – University of Richmond attackman Ryan Lanchbury has been selected as one of 10 finalists for the Senior CLASS Award for men's lacrosse.
 
The graduate student from Burlington, Ontario ranks first all-time in Richmond scoring history with 264 points (147 goals, 117 assists), with both marks ranking first all-time for the Spiders. Lanchbury leads the team this season with 52 points via 25 goals and 27 assists.
 
He was selected second overall in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) 2021 entry draft by the Georgia Swarm, is a two-time Tewaaraton Award Watch List member, was the 2021 Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Year and has been named an All-American twice in his career.
 
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior or graduate student and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character, and competition.
 
An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School ®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
 
The 10 finalists will be placed on an official ballot to be distributed through a nationwide voting system to media, coaches and fans who will select one candidate who best exemplifies excellence in the four Cs of community, classroom, character and competition.
 
Fan voting will be available at www.seniorCLASSaward.com. Fans will be able to vote online through May 16.
 
The Senior CLASS Award recipient will be announced during the 2022 NCAA Men's Lacrosse National Championship® in late May.
