SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Jacksonville’s Tyler Corpora and Colin Hinton have been named the Southern Conference men’s lacrosse offensive and defensive players of the week, respectively, for all games April 5-11 after leading the Dolphins to a 13-11 league win over No. 17 Richmond on Saturday. The awards are selected by the league office.
 
Corpora scored a season-high four goals in Saturday’s win, adding an assist for a season-best five points. The graduate midfielder from Macungie, Pennsylvania, in his first year at Jacksonville after four years at Hartford, did his damage on just six shots, five of which were on frame. He also added a ground ball on the afternoon as JU beat Richmond for the first time in program history.
 
Hinton, who also earned a spot on the USILA Division I Team of the Week on Tuesday, had three ground balls and three caused turnovers as the Dolphins held the nationally ranked Spiders more than three goals below their season average. The graduate defenseman from Kensington, Maryland, notched his fifth career game with at least three caused turnovers to help Jacksonville reach 10 wins in a season for the first time in program history.
 
Jacksonville (10-2, 2-0 SoCon), which is ranked No. 9 in the USILA / Dynamic Men’s Coaches Division I Poll and No. 8 in the Inside Lacrosse and Nike/USA Lacrosse Magazine polls, visits VMI (3-8, 1-1) on Saturday at noon.
