GAINESVILLE, Fla. (Mar. 6, 2022) – The ETSU women’s golf team concluded the second and last day of the 50th VyStar Gators Invitational. The Blue & Gold finished 13th of 15 teams after carding a 21-over-par (296) final round on Sunday.
Sera Hasegawa (Gifu, Japan) led the Bucs in today's round cruising up nine spots to tied 17th place to end the tournament. Hasegawa had three bogeys on holes five, 13, and 15. She balanced them out with two birdies on holes three and 12. Hasegawa ends the tournament six-over-par (216).
Saturday's team leader, Hollie Muse (Liverpool, England) fell a few spots to tied 22nd in the player leaderboards. Muse carded five bogeys on holes one, six, nine, 13, and 18. She had one birdie on hole three. Muse ends the tournament seven-over-par (217).
The Florida native, Alex Crafton (Lake Mary, Fla.), finished the tournament tied for 52nd place with a 224 (+15). Today, Crafton had one birdie on hole 11, two bogeys on holes two and 10, and two double-bogey on holes three and seven.
Freshman, Sophie Bert (Deurle, Belgium), carded a seven-over-par (84) today. Bert struggled a bit in today’s 18, carding eight bogeys, and two double-bogey. She finishes the tournament tied for 69th with a 235 (+25).
The Bucs' final player in the lineup, Ellie Darnell (Kettering, Northamptonshire, England) finished the tournament in 77th place going 32-over-par (242). In today’s round, Darnell had two birdies, seven bogeys, and three double-bogey.
The Bucs as a unit finished the tournament 50-over-par (890).
No. 7 Florida and No. 10 Michigan tied for first place to win the tournament. Both teams were 11-over-par (851). No. 34 Ashley Lau of Michigan won medalist honors after carding a four-under-par in today’s 18. Lau finished the tournament seven-under-par (203).
ETSU returns to action on Friday, Mar. 11, when the Blue & Gold compete in the Clover Cup in Mesa, Ariz.
