SPARTANBURG, S.C. – High Point’s Asher Nolting and VMI’s Jack Liselli have been named the Southern Conference men’s lacrosse offensive and defensive players of the week, respectively, for all games March 1-7. The awards are selected by the league office.
 
Nolting scored 14 points across two games last week, starting with eight in an 18-14 setback to No. 10 Duke on March 1. The fifth-year attackman from Greenwood Village, Colorado, scored eight points against the Blue Devils, scoring three goals and handing out five assists. On Saturday, Nolting again dished out five helpers, adding a goal for a six-point day in the Panthers’ 15-4 win over Bellarmine. Nolting’s latest effort pushed his career scoring ledger to 301 points, making him the first SoCon player to break the 300-point threshold and putting him 18^th all-time in college lacrosse.
 
Liselli had a phenomenal day in goal for the Keydets in their 8-7 win at Mount St. Mary’s on Friday. The sophomore from Morrison, Colorado, earned his first career victory by making 12 saves and allowing just seven goals in VMI’s first win over The Mount in 17 years. Liselli faced 42 shots on the day, posted a .632 save percentage and turned in a pair of critical saves in a final defensive stand as VMI picked up the win.
 
High Point (3-3) returns to play Saturday when it visits Robert Morris for a 1 p.m. tilt. VMI (2-3) is back in action at Detroit Mercy on Saturday at noon.
