SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford’s Mark Endler has been named the Southern Conference men’s tennis player of the week for all matches played March 8-14, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Endler clinched Wofford’s 4-3 win over Mercer on Sunday, gutting out a 7-6 (7-4), 1-6, 6-3 win over Samuel Macleod at No. 3 singles to break a 3-3 team deadlock. The freshman from Tenerife, Spain, also clinched the doubles point for the Terriers, teaming with Will Fullett at No. 2 for a 7-6 (7-0) win over Macleod and Samuel Barrow.
The win was Wofford’s first in Macon, Georgia, since Mercer joined the league in 2014-15.
Wofford (5-9, 1-1 SoCon) hosts Fairfield on Tuesday before welcoming Chattanooga (3-11, 1-0) on Friday and Davidson on Sunday.
Also nominated: Hayden Shoemake (The Citadel), Dimitri Badra (ETSU), Drew Singerman (Furman), Lucas Wayenburg (Mercer) and Alexander Zuckerman (UNCG).
