JU's Waldbaum added to Tewaaraton Award watch list

Dolphin attack joins HPU's Nolting, UR's Lanchbury on the list

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Jacksonville University men's lacrosse graduate student attack Max Waldbaum was named as part of the first round of additions to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List on Thursday.
 
Waldbaum's strong start to the 2022 season earned him a spot on the list of the candidates for lacrosse's most prestigious award, handed out annually to the top men's and women's lacrosse players in the nation.
 
In his first year in a Dolphin uniform after transferring in as a graduate student, Waldbaum has been integral to the team achieving its first national rankings and multiple top-25 wins. He leads the team in points, is second in goals and assists and has also collected 11 ground balls and has two caused turnovers.
 
The Denver, Colorado, native burst on to the scene with 13 goals in his first three games and was recognized as SoCon Offensive Player of the Week and Inside Lacrosse Player of the Week and was part of the USILA Team of the Week on Feb. 15.
 
High Point’s Asher Nolting and Richmond’s Ryan Lanchbury were members of the initial watch list, released Feb. 10.
