MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's tennis team downed Georgia College by a score of 6-1 to improve to 5-4 on the season.
 
The duo of Mary Courville and Naya Tillitt claimed a 6-4 victory at No. 1 doubles. Lekha Varudandi and Kristin Yordanova earned the 7-6 win in No. 2 doubles and Lauren Rich and Francesca Franchi won 6-4 at No. 3 to give Mercer the doubles point.
 
Mercer would go on to claim five of the six singles matches.
 
Courville won No. 1 singles 7-6, 6-1; Tillitt claimed No. 2, 7-6, 6-2; Rich took No. 3 by a score of 6-0, 6-4 and Franchi clinched victory at No. 4 with a 7-6, 6-4 win. Varudandi earned the win at No. 5 singles 6-1, 7-5.
 
Mercer will be back in action on Monday, Feb. 21, for a matchup with the Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia.
