Jacksonville jumps into national polls after historic win

Dolphins are nationally ranked for the first time in program history

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville men's lacrosse program earned national recognition Monday morning, as it was ranked in numerous polls for the first time in program history.

The Dolphins were ranked 15th in the Inside Lacrosse weekly ranking and 16th by USA Lacrosse Magazine following Sunday's historic victory at Duke, which was ranked No. 2 by the USILA and No. 3 by Inside Lacrosse and USA Lacrosse Magazine.

Sunday was the first victory for Jacksonville in program history against a top-3 opponent. Max Wladbaum's four-goal effort and Jack Dolan's hat trick fueled the Dolphin attack offensively. Two goals apiece from Jacob Greiner and Tyler Corpora as well as a goal each from Jeremy Winston, Reid Smith and Bo BowHunter rounded out the scoring for JU. Luke Millican earned the victory between the pipes for Jacksonville, stopping 10 shots in the historic victory.

Jacksonville returns to the field Tuesday evening, as the Dolphins face Mercer in a neutral-site nonconference contest being held in Savannah, Georgia. Opening faceoff is slated for 6 p.m.
