Commish Chat is a series of one-on-one interviews between Southern Conference Commissioner Jim Schaus and various student-athletes, coaches, administrators, media members and more as they discuss SoCon athletics and issues that affect college athletics on a broader scale.

Schaus's guest for Season 2, Episode 5 is Asheville Buncombe Regional Sports Commission President Demp Bradford. The Ingles SoCon Basketball Championships will be contested in Asheville, North Carolina, at Harrah's Cherokee Center – Asheville for the 11th straight season in 2022. Asheville has hosted the league's men's basketball championship 22 times in the 101 years it has been contested, the most of any location. The league announced in May 2021 that the tournament would remain in Asheville through 2026.

Schaus and Bradford talk about the upcoming men's and women's tournaments (March 3-7), why people should come and what events surround it, what the tournaments mean to the community and what went into the community's efforts to bring the SoCon tournaments back to Asheville in 2012, and what else Asheville has to offer.
