SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Presbyterian’s Malcolm Wiley has been named the Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week for all competition from Dec. 21-27. The selection is made by the league office.
 
Wiley went 1-1 at 197 pounds as he dropped a match in Presbyterian’s dual meet with George Mason before winning his match in the Blue Hose’s dual meet with Duke. Both dual meets took place on Wednesday, Dec. 21, in Clinton, South Carolina.
 
The sophomore from Tyrone, Georgia, fell 3-1 to Jon List of George Mason in his first match of the day. Against the Blue Devils, Wiley defeated Brayden Ray via pin 2:59 into the match, giving the Blue Hose a 12-10 lead at that point in the meet.
 
The Blue Hose fell 32-6 to George Mason and 23-19 against Duke.
 
Presbyterian (2-4, 0-1 SoCon) travels to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to compete in the Franklin & Marshall Open on Jan. 5-6.
