Wofford’s Paveletzke named SoCon Player of the Week

Freshman guard led Terriers to win at Texas A&M

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford freshman Jackson Paveletzke has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for all contests from Dec. 19-25 after scoring 22 points and grabbing six rebounds in a win at Texas A&M. The award is selected by the league office.
 
Paveletzke went 7-for-13 from the floor (.538) en route to his game-high point total in the Terriers’ 67-62 win over the Aggies on Tuesday. The rookie guard from Kimberly, Wisconsin, went 2-for-5 (.400) from 3-point range and was perfect on six tries from the free-throw line in the final 20 seconds to lock up the win for Wofford.
 
Paveletzke, the top-scoring freshman in the SoCon at 15.8 points per game, also added four assists and a steal as Wofford won its sixth game over a Power 5 conference opponent since 2017.
 
The Terriers (8-5) open league play when they host ETSU on Thursday at 7 p.m. before welcoming UNCG on Dec. 31 at 2 p.m.
