SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Mercer’s Amoria Neal-Tysor has been named Southern Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 13-19 after leading the Bears to a win over Kennesaw State. The award is selected by the league office.
 
Neal-Tysor started for Mercer in its lone game last week as the Bears defeated Kennesaw State, 60-57, on Monday, Dec. 19. The native of Sanford, North Carolina, scored a game-high 19 points, had six rebounds, dished out two assists and grabbed two steals. Neal-Tysor, the SoCon preseason player of the year, shot 8-for-13 (.615) from the field, including hitting 1-for-2 from beyond the arc, against the Owls to have her most efficient game since the team’s season opener, when Neal-Tysor was 10-for-14.
 
Mercer (4-6) will host Florida Gulf Coast on Wednesday, Dec. 21.
