Kinsey named SoCon Director of Conference Operations

Assumes new role on Nov. 28

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Kayla Adair Kinsey has been hired as the Director of Conference Operations for the Southern Conference, Commissioner Jim Schaus announced Monday. Kinsey will start Monday, Nov. 28.
 
Kinsey will be responsible for managing a variety of important operational tasks that involve meeting and event planning, office manager responsibilities, daily business operation assistance and administrative support for the Commissioner.
 
A native of Anderson, South Carolina, Kinsey comes to the SoCon from the South Carolina High School League, where she has served as the administrative assistant to the deputy commissioner since 2021. There, Kinsey has provided administrative support for external communications with 400-plus member schools and 81 district officiating directors, in addition to serving as the initial and primary contact for game official applicants. Kinsey also designed, edited and laid out state championship programs, created and distributed state finalist packets and assisted with event planning for state championships.
 
Prior to her work with the South Carolina High School League, Kinsey served as an Accelerate SC customer service analyst for the South Carolina Governor’s Office of Ombudsman with the Office of Executive Policy and Programs. In that role, she handled correspondence with citizens and business leaders about South Carolina return-to-work guidelines post-Covid quarantine, was a resolution contact for customer complaints and state concerns, and identified and escalated priority issues to appropriate departments using the agency’s internal tracking system.
 
Kinsey earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Clemson in May 2020.
