Furman at Mercer on Nov. 12 selected for Nexstar broadcast

First of two wildcard games to wrap up the league’s 10-game Nexstar broadcast package

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Furman at Mercer football game on Saturday, Nov. 12, will air on select Nexstar affiliates throughout the Southeast as the Ingles Southern Conference Game of the Week. Opening kick is set for 3 p.m. from Macon, Georgia.
 
Both nationally ranked squads are 7-2 overall, sport 5-1 SoCon records, and have byes this week. Mercer is ranked No. 11 in the AFCA FCS Coaches’ Top 25 and No. 12 in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25, while Furman is ranked 19 by the AFCA and No. 13 by Stats Perform. The Bears topped VMI 55-14 on the road on Saturday, while the Paladins downed then-No. 6/7 Chattanooga 24-20 at home.
 
The Nov. 12 meeting is the first of two wildcard games to wrap up the league’s 10-game Nexstar broadcast package. The final contest in the package is also a wildcard game, set for Saturday, Nov. 19. That matchup will be announced next week.
 
All broadcasts in the Nexstar package air concurrently on either ESPN+ or ESPN3.
 
This week’s Ingles SoCon Game of the Week features Wofford at Western Carolina on Saturday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m.
 
Nexstar affiliates carrying that contest are ECBD/The Lowcountry’s CW (Charleston), WMYT/My 12 (Charlotte), WWCW/The CW Virginia (Lynchburg/Roanoke) and WYCW/The CW62 (Greenville/Spartanburg/Asheville). Though not a Nexstar affiliate, WMUB (Macon) will also carry the game.
 
Pete Yanity will provide play-by-play and Jared Singleton will serve as analyst.
