CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Chattanooga seniors McClendon Curtis and Devonnsha Maxwell have received invitations to the Hula Bowl.
 
The pair anchors the offensive and defensive lines for the Mocs. Curtis, a four-year starter at right guard, has seen work at his normal position as well as out at left tackle, managing to excel at both. Maxwell is a force on the Mocs’ interior at defensive tackle. The focus on him by offensive lines has resulted in four different Mocs recording multiple sacks through five games.
 
The microscope the pair is under is intense. They’re not alone as several Mocs are eyed, from seniors to underclassmen, but almost every set of NFL eyes has been on them dating back to last season, when first-round pick Cole Strange was the headliner.
 
Nearly every NFL team has already visited the Scenic City to watch practice, view game tape and visit Curtis, Maxwell and others. Thirty-one of the 32 NFL teams last year came to campus on a regular basis.
 
Strange is the last Moc to play in one of the postseason all-star weeks. He was in the Reese's Senior Bowl, which has this year's dynamic duo under close scrutiny. The Shrine Bowl is also keeping close tabs with Curtis on its watch list. Defensive tackle Kolu Fainuulelei (1998) is the lone Moc to play in the Hula Bowl.

The Mocs are home for two weeks straight after taking a break this weekend. They welcome VMI to Finley Stadium on Oct. 15 before Mercer a week later. Both game times are 1:30 p.m.
