SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Western Carolina’s Madison Isaacson has been selected as the Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for all competition from Sept. 28 to Oct. 4. The selection is made by the league office.
 
Isaacson posted a runner-up finish with a 2-over-par 212 at the Jupiter Women’s Invitational hosted by Florida Atlantic in Jupiter, Florida, at the par-70, 5,890-yard Jonathan's Landing Golf Club. The fifth-year senior opened with a 3-over 73 in the opening round before firing a 4-under 66 in the second, matching the program-low single-round score with the fifth 66 in school history and the first since Sofie Kvanrstrom shot 66 back in 2011. Isaacson carried a one-stroke lead into the final round and hovered around the top of the individual leaderboard for the majority of the round before closing out the event with another round of 3-over 73 to finish in the runner-up spot and finish only one stroke back of medalist Anna Claire Bridge of Florida Gulf Coast. Her three-round score is the second-best in program history, which is second to her score from the previous week, a 206 (69-70-67) to win the Aggie Invitational. The Greensboro, North Carolina, native added nine birdies in the tournament and finished with a team-best 35 pars over the 54-hole event.
 
Western Carolina claimed the tournament title in the nine-team field, completing the tournament with a 9-over 858 performance to mark the second-best three-round score in program history. The Catamounts shot 291 in the first round, 278 in the second, and 289 in the final round to claim their third straight team title and secure wins over Florida Gulf Coast (+25), Troy (+26), Stetson (+38) and UNC Asheville (+45).
 
This marks Isaacson's first weekly honor of the season and the first of her career.
 
Western Carolina returns to action on Monday, Oct. 17, at the Buccaneer Classic hosted by Charleston Southern in Goose Creek, South Carolina, at the Crowfield Golf Course.
