SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga’s Dorota Zalewska has been selected as the Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for all competition from Oct. 5-11. The selection is made by the league office.
 
Zalewska tied for seventh with a 3-under-par 213 at the Ron Moore Invitational hosted by Denver in Denver, Colorado, at the par-72, 6,756-yard Highlands Ranch Golf Club. The senior opened with a 2-over 74 in Friday’s opening round before posting a 3-under 69 in the second, with her second-round score marking her sixth round in the 60s this season, matching the program record set by Emily McLennan in 2016, and marking her 11th card in the 60s of her career, breaking the tie with McLennan to set a new program record in that category. Zalewska sat in a tie for 14th at 1-under 143 entering the final round before closing out the event with a 2-under 70, the 32nd par-or-better round of her career, which tied the school record set by Emma de Groot in 2011, to finish in a tie with Incarnate Word's Lily Hirst. The Sczcecin, Poland, native collected her third top-10 finish in four events this season, the 13th of her career, and played par or better on 48 of 54 holes with 10 birdies and 38 pars.
 
Chattanooga finished 13th in the 16-team field, completing the tournament with a 27-over 891 performance. The Mocs shot 293 in the first round, 300 in the second, and 298 in the final round, clinching wins over Grand Canyon (+29), Hawaii (+38) and Wyoming (+43). Vanderbilt won the tournament with an 839, followed by Xavier at 859 and Tulane at 862.
 
This marks Zalewska's third weekly honor of the season and the sixth of her career.
 
Chattanooga closes out the fall campaign on Monday, Oct. 17, and Tuesday, Oct. 18, at The Ally hosted by Mississippi State in West Point, Mississippi, at the Old Waverly Golf Club.
