USTFCCCA announces All-Academic awards

12 SoCon teams and four student-athletes honored

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Twelve Southern Conference cross country teams and four student-athletes were honored on Thursday, Jan. 27, by the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) with All-Academic honors, the organization announced.

Six SoCon men’s teams and six women’s teams earned the All-Academic Team accolade, which requires at least a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. ETSU, Furman, Mercer, UNCG, Samford and Wofford earned the honor for both its men’s and women’s programs. Samford's men had the 15th-best GPA among Division I programs, while the Wofford women had the 85th-best.

ETSU redshirt junior Lindsey Stallworth and Furman’s Bethany Graham, Cameron Ponder, and Dylan Schubert were all named USTFCCCA All-Academic individuals. To earn that honor, student-athletes must carry at least a cumulative 3.25 GPA on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top 25 (or 10 percent) at the NCAA Regional Championships or earn All-America honors at the NCAA Championships.
