SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford’s women’s basketball player Alexis Tomlin has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for all competition from Jan. 5-11. The selection is made by the conference office.
 
Tomlin assisted the Terriers in their first conference victory of the season, scoring 11 points and adding 13 rebounds in Wofford’s 72-48 win over Western Carolina on Thursday, Jan. 6. The senior forward’s double-double marked her third of the season and fifth of her career and is the fifth double-double posted by a Terrier this season. The Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, native’s 13 boards tied her career high, as did her three blocks, which also set a single-game best for a Terrier this season.
 
Tomlin, who has been accepted to and will attend the Medical University of South Carolina upon graduation, maintains a 4.00 grade point average and is pursuing degrees in biology and mathematics.
 
Wofford (6-9, 1-0 SoCon) travels to Greenville, South Carolina, on Thursday, Jan. 13, for a conference game against Furman (8-7, 1-0 SoCon) at 7 p.m. ET before traveling to Birmingham, Alabama, on Thursday, Jan. 20, for a conference game against Samford (5-10, 0-1 SoCon) at 7 p.m. ET.
