CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Citadel men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Queen City Invite on Friday. The men's team finished fifth, while the women finished 23^rd.
 
Women's Race

• The Bulldogs finished 23^rd out of 36 teams entered in the 5K race.
• Heidi Fortin led the way with a 25^th place finish with a time of 18:23.
• Rebecca McCorkendale was the second finisher in a time of 19:13.
• Lilly Inman finished the race in a time of 22:11.
• Kennedy DeLancy finished in a time of 23:11, while Claire Thomas finished in a time of 26:00.

 
Men's Race

• The men's team finished fifth out of the 38 teams entered in the 8K race.
• Sam Sharnas led the way with a time of 24:23 to finish sixth.
• Andrew Smith finished 32nd with a time of 25:21.
• Ty Duden was the third Bulldog to cross the finish line in a time of 26:02.
• Alex Wulfhorst and Robert Perrecone finished together with times of 26:15.
• Freshman Hayden Hare finished the race in a time of 26:34.
• Devon Heisler finished just behind Hare with a time of 26:43.
