Western Carolina receives College Team Academic Award

Catamounts honored by US Soccer Coaches for the 2020-21 academic year

CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Western Carolina women's soccer was named a College Team Academic Award winner by United Soccer Coaches for the 2020-21 academic year as announced by the organization this week.
 
The Catamounts earned a place on the team with a team GPA of 3.77. It marks the 17th straight time in school history the Catamounts have been a recipient of the accolade and 12th under Miller's guidance.
 
Western Carolina's 3.77 GPA was the highest among Southern Conference teams. Among collegiate soccer programs in the state of North Carolina, the Catamounts also rank first among the other 20 collegiate soccer programs in the state.

In order to be considered for the award, a squad had to post a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the 2020-21 academic year.

Western Carolina University received the award in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.
