SoCon signs three-year deal with HD Intelligence

HDI will assist with men's basketball nonconference scheduling

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference has announced a three-year agreement with HD Intelligence to assist with men’s basketball nonconference scheduling.

Through the use of proprietary formulas and preseason projections, HDI provides expert scheduling guidance to teams seeking to build optimal nonconference schedules and postseason résumés.

“This partnership will assist our schools in developing men’s basketball nonconference schedules that best fits their needs and can optimize our overall success,” SoCon Commissioner Jim Schaus said.

HDI will provide ongoing, continually updated scheduling-related data and guidance to all SoCon member institutions and the league office for the duration of the deal, which runs through Aug. 31, 2024. League coaches and administrators will have access to real-time evaluations of all NCAA Division I schools, including such factors as current rosters, graduations and incoming and outgoing transfers.

HDI currently counts several NCAA Division I programs among its clients, including SoCon member Furman.

"We are extremely excited to be partnering with a forward-thinking league like the Southern Conference, and we are eager to help the league stay on the cutting edge by taking a strategic, data-driven approach to scheduling," said HDI co-founder Colton Houston.
