Five on CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams

The Citadel's Blumer, Furman's Kuntz, Coppi and Power and Chattanooga's Boyd honored for cross country/track and field

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Five Southern Conference student-athletes earned spots on the cross country/track and field CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams, the organization announced Thursday.

On the men's sider, The Citadel's Sam Blumer, Furman's Mason Coppi and Josh Powers and Chattanooga's Jonathan Boyd were honored for their work in the classroom. Boyd was named to the District 3 team (NC, TN, VA), while Blumer, Coppi and Powers earned spots on the District 4 squad (AL, FL, GA, PR, SC). Furman senior Emma Kuntz was the lone female representative from the SoCon and earned a spot on the District 4 team.
 
First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in mid-August.
