SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Ten Southern Conference football student-athletes were named FCS All-Americans by Phil Steele and draftscout.com on Thursday.
ETSU and VMI had three selections each, while Furman, Samford, Chattanooga and Wofford had one apiece.
VMI wide receiver Jakob Herres and linebacker Stone Snyder both earned first-team distinction. Wofford fullback Nathan Walker, Furman tight end Ryan Miller, Chattanooga defensive lineman Devonnsha Maxwell and ETSU all-purpose back Quay Holmes were second-team selections. ETSU offensive lineman Tre’mond Shorts and linebacker Jared Folks, Samford kicker Mitchell Fineran and VMI long snapper Robert Soderholm were all third-team picks.
