SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The 2020-21 Academic All-District® Women’s Soccer Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early July.
Six of the 11 spots on the CoSIDA Academic All-District 4 First Team (AL, FL, GA, PR, SC) were held by SoCon student-athletes. The Citadel's Logan Dix, Furman's Isabella Gutierrez, Mercer's Jordyn Ebert and Ally Fordham, Samford's Caroline Orman and Wofford's Maggie Adcock were honored.
Dix joins former Bulldog Shanna Couch in earning the accolades after Couch was named to the squad in 2010. The Tipp City, Ohio, native is the lone player in program history to be named to the First Team; Couch received Third Team honors. This season, Dix enjoyed one of the top individual seasons in school history, becoming just the fifth player to score double-digit goals in a single season and the first to do so since 2014. Her 10 goals were tied for 16th among all Division I players this season, leading all SoCon players in the category; her 22 total points (10 goals, two assists) are the seventh-most in a single season in The Citadel’s history and ranked 34th in the nation in 2020-21.
For her career, Dix is up to 25 goals, the fourth-most in program history, and her 58 total points are tied for third all-time at The Citadel alongside Kelly Pesterfield. Although Dix has completed four years of competition, she announced following the season that she planned to return for a fifth and final campaign with the Bulldogs.
Gutierrez, a native of Statesboro, Ga., garnered Southern Conference Player of the Year honors and United Soccer Coaches All-South Region accolades while leading the Paladins to a SoCon Tournament title and 8-1-2 overall record this past season. The first team All-SoCon choice totaled four goals, including a pair of match-winning scores, and registered three assists while starting on the win in all 11 games for head coach Andrew Burr’s squad. A health sciences major, Gutierrez sports a 3.98 GPA.
Ebert has had one of the most impressive careers in the history of Mercer goalkeepers and recently announced that she will return for the 2021 campaign while pursuing her master's degree. She completed her undergraduate degree in biology with a 3.416 grade-point average and is a three-time SoCon Honor Roll member and two-time Academic All-SoCon selection. On the pitch, she has appeared in 79 matches and made 64 starts. The Suwanee, Ga., native has played more than 6,500 minutes in goal and has a 36-30-5 record with 359 saves and 16 shutouts. She finds herself in the top-three in numerous career records categories for the Mercer women's soccer program. Her 359 saves and 36 wins rank second all-time, while she sits third overall with 16 clean sheets. Ebert won a single-season best 14 matches as a junior in 2019 and shutout seven opponents in the same season, which is second to Lauren Burch's eight clean sheets in 2003, a single-season record.
Fordham, a forward, will also return for the 2021 season. The El Cajon, Calif., native finished her undergraduate degree in industrial management with a 3.974 grade-point average and has a 4.0 graduate school GPA. She is pursuing a Master of Science in Engineering with a specialization in Engineering Management. Fordham has received SoCon Honor Roll recognition three times and was a member of the Fall 2019 Academic All-SoCon team. For her career, she has played in 58 matches and made 37 starts. Fordham has scored 20 goals and added three assists with her best statistical season of nine goals and one assist (19 points) coming over the course of the 2020-21 season. She led the SoCon last season with five match-winning goals and was second in total points and points per match.
Orman posted a perfect 4.0 grade-point average in health sciences at Samford. She earned her bachelor's degree from Samford this spring, and now plans to attend UAB for graduate school in the accelerated nursing program. This is the second time Orman has earned Academic All-District honors, as she was also named to the team in 2019. She is also a three-time member of the SoCon's Academic Honor Roll, and has been named to the Academic All-SoCon team twice.
Last month, Orman was awarded a Southern Conference Presidential Postgraduate Scholarship to go towards her postgraduate studies. Athletically, Orman was named to the SoCon's All-Freshman team in 2017, first team All-SoCon in 2018, and second team All-SoCon in both 2019 and 2020. For her career, she tallied 12 goals and eight assists for a total of 32 points. Orman helped lead the team to four SoCon regular-season titles and one SoCon Tournament championship and NCAA Tournament bid.

A finance and accounting major with a 4.00 grade point average, Adcock was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa this spring. She received her Bachelor of Arts in May summa cum laude and was an Honor Graduate. She was also the 2021 recipient of the William Stanley Hoole award, which is awarded to the Wofford senior student-athlete with the highest academic average.
