Samford's Stuckey earns All-America honors in high jump

Bulldog sophomore finished 15th to take second-team honors

EUGENE, Ore. – Samford's track and field program officially closed the 2021 season at the NCAA Outdoor Championships at historic Hayward Field on Friday, with sophomore Justin Stuckey finishing 15th in the high jump to claim second-team All-America honors.

Stuckey missed his first two bids at the height of 2.10 meters (6' 10.75"), but sailed over the bar on his third attempt before clearing the next progression (2.15 meters, 7' 0.5") on his first attempt. At the third height, Stuckey failed to clear 2.20 meters (7' 2.5").

Stuckey was competing in his second NCAA Championships of 2021, as he finished sixth at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships with a height of 2.18 meters (7' 1.75"), a mark that earned All-America recognition.

Stuckey's phenomenal outdoor season included complete dominance in the high jump, winning the individual SoCon title with a leap of 2.19 meters (7' 2.25") and helping lead the Bulldogs to another team crown, as the Dogs swept the men's and women's outdoor SoCon titles. Stuckey also set a program record on April 17, posting a mark of 2.21 meters (7' 3") at the War Eagle Invite in Auburn, Ala.

The Bulldogs claimed all four of the team track and feld titles contested in 2021, completing the program's first ever four-peat by securing the men's and women's indoor and outdoor championships.
