INDIANAPOLIS – Southern Conference champion High Point will face No. 2 seed Duke in the first round of the NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championships on Sunday, May 16, at Dorrance Field on the campus of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. The 5 p.m. contest will air live on ESPNU.

The Panthers (8-5) shared the SoCon regular-season crown with Richmond at 5-1 in league play before beating the Spiders in the title game of the SoCon Men’s Lacrosse Championship on Friday to earn the league’s automatic bid into the NCAA tournament.

High Point will be facing Duke (12-2) for the second time this season. The squads first met on May 19, when the No. 2/1 Blue Devils claimed a 27-8 win on ESPNU. Duke is 5-0 against SoCon teams this season.

The contest will mark High Point’s fifth versus an ACC opponent and seventh against a ranked opponent this season. The winner of the contest will advance to face either Loyola or No. 7 seed Denver on May 23 in South Bend, Indiana.

High Point will be making its first NCAA appearance since 2015, when it won its first SoCon tournament title.
