Commish Chat is a series of one-on-one interviews between Southern Conference Commissioner Jim Schaus and various student-athletes, coaches, administrators, media members and more as they discuss SoCon athletics and issues that affect college athletics on a broader scale.

Schaus's guest for Episode 24 is Mercer Provost Dr. Scott Davis, who has been Mercer's chief academic officer since 2012 and chairs the SoCon Academic Exchange, a cooperative educational program of the 10 Southern Conference institutions.

Schaus and Davis talk about the formation and benefits of the SoCon Academic Exchange; the creation and purpose of the SoCon Undergraduate Research Forum (SURF); the addition of a new SoCon Academic Exchange program for the coming academic year, a two-day entrepreneurship competition; the All-SoCon Faculty and Staff Awards; and the potential for faculty exchanges and foreign tours for students.
