Commish Chat is a series of one-on-one interviews between Southern Conference Commissioner Jim Schaus and various student-athletes, coaches, administrators, media members and more as they discuss SoCon athletics and issues that affect college athletics on a broader scale.

Schaus's guest for Episode 23 is UNCG softball coach Janelle Breneman, whose squad wrapped its fourth straight SoCon regular-season title over the weekend and the No. 1 seed in the SoCon Softball Championship, which the Spartans will host this Thursday through Saturday.

Schaus and Breneman discuss the Spartans' exciting final weekend of the regular season, in which they had to sweep Western Carolina to earn the regular-season title and top seed in the tournament; the key to UNCG's continued success; hosting the SoCon tournament and what it would take for the Spartans to win; and what it means to Breneman to be part of the Southern Conference.
