SPARTANBURG, S.C. – ETSU’s Andrea Pascual-Larrinaga has been named the Southern Conference women’s tennis player of the week for all matches played March 29-April 4, the conference office announced Monday.
 
Pascual-Larrinaga, a senior, went 2-0 at No. 3 singles and 2-0 at No. 3 doubles as ETSU beat UNCG, 7-0, and Chattanooga, 6-1.
 
The native of Basauri, Spain, defeated UNCG’s Hanna Giddings, 6-1, 6-1 on April 2 and Chattanooga’s Polina Goloputova 7-4, 7-6 (7-4) the next day. The singles wins were her seventh and eighth straight singles wins, helping ETSU remain perfect in SoCon play. 
 
In doubles, Pascual-Larrinaga and teammate Maria Carvajal downed UNCG’s Emily Ory and Tayah Cross, 6-0, and Chattanooga’s Callie Billman and Wilma Bergqvist, 6-2. The duo has won five straight matches and have not allowed an opponent to win more than three games in that span.
 
ETSU (11-8, 5-0 SoCon) concludes the regular season at Western Carolina (7-5, 0-2) and No. 35 Furman (17-6, 5-0) on April 8 and April 17, respectively.
